Meet Tel Aviv urban farmers.
I live in Tel Aviv which is a dense, dirty, bustling city. Unfortunately, like many metropolitan cities, green is lacking and the inability to connect to nature can get you feeling down. Recently, my good friend and fellow Positive Purpose Person Omrit joined me on a mission to meet the owners and founders of Zevulon Balagan, the first Rooftop Farm in the middle of the city. Offir and Julie are planting their seeds in pots in the earth as well and in the minds of their fellow city dwellers. They are teaching us that gardening and growing our own food is healthy for the environment, our surroundings as well as our state of mind. This spiritually and physically elevating activity is not only available to those living on vast farm land, but to all. By partaking you also invite the lovely little creatures like bees, butterflies and birds into the city to keep the air cool, the surroundings vital and the ecosystem healthy .
